What a great comment and a great event. Pico looks even more beautiful now. It was so much fun to see so many familiar faces and meet some new folks too. My group got their hands  and feet dirty, and loved every minute of it. We named the flowering pear tree we planted between Prosser and Parnell Parmesan and look forward to watching her grow and bloom. I posted photos some photos and look forward to seeing other peoples pictures as well.

This community effort was a spectacular success!  Thanks, Orli, for coming out and planting a tree -- and thank you Rancho Park for getting up early, joining your local neighborhood council and Station 92 for the pancake breakfast -- our firefighters ROCK!  A special thanks to Overland Avenue Community resident and WNC business seat Lisa Morocco who was the vision and the number one cheerleader and promoter behind this community activity!  Thanks to Terri Tippit, our wonderful WNC Chair, who knows who to talk to in order to make this a true feel good community event.  Thanks to CD 5 -- Paul Koretz for coming out, rolling up his sleeves, and planting a tree in front of John O'Groats, and thanks to his great staff -- Joan, Dimitri, and Sheila -- for wearing shovel appropriate clothing, and really getting into the planting experience!!  Not just pretty faces!

Most importantly, thanks to all of you -- the people that live here, the kids, the parents, the tree people, all of you, who got up early on Saturday to make this a perfect event!
