Good Food Festival & Conference spills over into Rancho Park

To celebrate the Santa Monica Farmers Market 30th birthday there will be a five-day festival and conference from Sept. 14-18 to discuss food and farming issues, such as. food policy, school food, hunger, the environment, farming, organic food, butterfly gardens, food preservation, beekeeping and composting.

 

Chipotle's Steve Ells, food activist Will Allen, food policy person Paula Daniels will also perform at rhe Good Food Festival & Conference.

 

Mary MacVean of LATimes.com says wait there's more. The director of "Food, Inc.," Robert Kenner, and Barbara Spencer of Windrose Farms will be at Food Restaurant in Rancho Park on Sept. 8.

 

Jams, pastires and other delish dishes will be made at Santa Monica Place on Aug. 27. And there's an art exhibit of farm scenes from the L.A. area at Santa Monica High School. The art was created in the 1930s, as part of President Franklin D. Roosevelt's Works Progress Administration.
