New Motor Avenue Farmer's Market Serving Up Fresh Produce and More Beginning September 2

A new farmer's market is coming to the neighborhood. The Motor Avenue Farmer's Market will set up shop near Rancho Park, at National Blvd and Motor Avenue every Sunday from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm, selling local produce, prepared foods and crafts.  El Nopal and The Vegan Joint will be providing breakfast options, while Sunflower Baking will offer cookies and other baked treats. Palms Cycle  is offering free valet bike parking.

According to the Palms Neighborhood Council, the farmers’ market is a collaborative effort of the Motor Avenue Improvement Association, Faith2Green, as well local businesses and residents. It was made possible with the help of Councilmember Paul Koretz of Council District 5 and County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas.

It was on the small side since not everyone got their permits yet, I hear. But it's a great thing for our community. We ran into lots of friends and neighbors- so fun!

Here's a great shot that an RPO member sent who reported that the market did the neighborhood proud. Anyone else go? How was it?

Great!  I hope a Trader Joe's in the neighborhood will be next.
