Rancho Park Expo Line Construction News: Military Ave at Exposition Blvd to Be Fully Closed March 19 - 23

Rancho Park Expo Line Construction NoticeExpo construction crews will be relocating existing gas pipelines at Military Ave and Exposition Blvd, along the MTA right of way. The work will require full closure of Military Avenue at the intersection with Exposition Blvd for one week, beginning Monday, March 19 through Friday, March 23 from 9 am to 3:30 pm.

The notice of utility work says the noise, from the operation of heavy machinery, will be similar to that of a trash truck. It also says it might smell of gas for a while as harmless natural gas is released during the removal of the existing pipes, and that efforts will be made to minimize dust. Once a new pipeline is installed the old one will be removed at a later date. Read the complete notice hereand plan alternate routes.

The Expo Line, the end of suburban living in WLA. Casden's 638 units at Pico and Sepulveda with low income units will dilute our tax base and the political inflluence of homeowners. Only special interests in favor spoke at the hearing on this project, mainly construction unions. Who will be stepping off that train at Westwood or Sepulveda coming from downtown? Have a family living near those stations? Overland Av School is only one block from Westwood. What could possibly go wrong there? Does anyone care? Looks like no.
