Rancho Park's Pico Playhouse To Premiere "Adventures in Candyland" - A Play By Kids for All Ages to Enjoy

Saturday, November 1 marks the sold-out world premiere of "Adventures in Candyland", a  sugary saga written, performed and produced by a group of students from Overland Avenue Elementary School.

The delicious drama features friends on a journey, goblins up to no good, and royalty in peril.

The Pico Playhouse, Rancho Park's  neighborhood 99-seat theater treasure, graciously offered their stage, technical assistance and production expertise to this ambitious troupe, made up of fourth graders - along with a few little sisters.

Profits from the two performances will be donated to the World Wildlife Fund.

It doesn’t get much sweeter than that.

What: "Adventures in Candyland", written by Leah Uslan and Mollie Wittenberg and performed by Overland Elementary School students

When: 5:00 and 6:30 pm, Saturday, Nov 1

Where: Pico Playhouse, 10508 W Pico Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90064

Why: To raise money for the World Wildlife Fund

More: Both performances are sold out. Tickets for unused seats may be available at the box office at the time of each show.

Special thanks to Barbara Sanders, general manager and James Nisbet, house manager of the Pico Playhouse for giving these kids their first big break. Also, here’s a huge round of applause to all the adults who have volunteered their time and talents to putting on this show.
