Junior's Deli is Open and Serving Up Special Menu for Rosh Hashana, the Jewish New Year

If you were  too hot this weekend to think about preparing a huge holiday meal, Junior's Deli in Rancho Park has done all the work for you. They are open for Rosh Hashana and serving up a special menu of tradiational dishes, like chopped liver, geflite fish, beef brisket and more. Just like your grandma used to make, or even better.

 

This family-run Rancho Park institution at the corner of Pico and Westwood Blvds. opened in 1959 and dishes out delicious deli favorites from their take-out deli and dine-in restaurant. They also deliver.

 

On Rosh Hashana they are open from 7am - 9pm. Their special New Year's three-course New Year's dinner will be served from 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Reservations are recommended. Call 310.475.5771. The regular menu is also availalble.

I no longer eat meat, but when I was in high school I loved their bbq beef sandwiches.  My parents would sometimes get corned beef sandwiches for us when they went our for dinner - yummy.  Love the pickles.  I remember when Junior's was on Pico & they had the big pickle barrel in the front - I think they were 5 cents.  Going to Junior's is very comforting still, even though I don't eat most of what is on the menu - I usually go for breakfast these days.

I'm Catholic but several times a year I have to have a bowl of cabbage soup and a Chopped Liver sandwich from Juniors.It's a bit pricey but soooo good.
